Frontiers calls for proposals for the Frontiers Investigator Program

Frontiers Foundation calls for proposals for the Frontiers Investigator Program, which targets researchers with an outstanding track record who seek to establish an internationally competitive, sustainable research group in Hungary through full-time engagement. Selected research groups will be provided with world-class support for conducting research at the forefront of science and technology, as well as for mentoring outstanding young talent. Investigators are expected to publish impactful results in high-profile scientific journals and pursue opportunities for knowledge transfer to real-world applications.

Eligible applicants must hold a PhD degree in any natural science, medical and health science, engineering, technology, or agricultural/veterinary science. Applicants must be current or former European Research Council (ERC) grant holders as Principal Investigator, with priority given to current ERC grant holders. Alternatively, researchers who are current or former Principal Investigators of individual excellence research grants awarded outside the European Union and associated countries, with funding comparable to an ERC Grant (minimum three-year duration and a total budget of at least 1.5 million USD), are also eligible.

The Foundation offers a fixed research budget of 200M HUF per year for a 60-month project period. Successful candidates will be requested to concentrate their research in Hungary as a prerequisite for receiving the Frontiers Investigator Grant. Upon request, the Foundation will assist in identifying a suitable host institution in Hungary.
